ATU Research
Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is one of the largest multi-campus universities on the island of Ireland, serving a diverse group of learners, staff, communities, and organisations from our region and further afield. As a university with nine campuses located across eight counties, spanning the Northern and Western Region, we are dedicated to enabling sustainable economic, social and cultural development, connected to our region, and with a mindset that reaches far beyond it.
ATU’s integrated approach to Research, Development and Innovation is delivered through its Research Centres and Innovation Hubs. Much of our research is carried out in collaboration with companies, communities, and other stakeholders. We also participate in large-scale international networks, often bringing companies, communities, local authorities, and others from our region into those networks. Our collaborative approach ensures that we deliver practice-orientated study and research that seeks to address the major challenges facing society and the world.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
In September 2015, 193 countries agreed to adopt a set of global goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Click on a goal to the right to explore how our researchers and their work are contributing towards achieving it.
