        Dr Carina Ginty (PFHEA) is a Head of Teaching and Learning at ATU with responsibility for Transformative Education and Sustainable Learning Futures. Working in higher education for 20+ years, Carina is a leader in teaching and learning, including digital innovation and transformation at ATU. She has initiated and led the development of various national and international projects in teaching, learning and assessment enhancement, digital transformation, GenAI Education, digital pedagogies, education for sustainable development, student engagement and leadership.
         
        From 2022-2025, Carina was the university lead at ATU for N-TUTORR Transforming Learning and co-led the sector workstream on student empowerment. Funded by NextGenerationEU (value 40 million euro), the aim of this ambitious program focused on transforming teaching, learning and assessment through student empowerment, building staff capabilities and developing the digital ecosystem in technological universities in Ireland. Furthermore, between 2019 and 2022, Carina led the transition to digital teaching and learning during COVID for all GMIT academic staff and the development of the DigitalEd.ie knowledge platform aimed at all staff across the ATU under the iNOTE project supported by the HEA innovation fund (value 2.9 million euros). Currently, Carina is co-leading the new Learning Ecosystem project for ATU (value 8 million over 4 years), and she is the academic lead for MyCareerPath.ie under the HigherEd 4.0 project, which is transforming access pathways to higher education.
         
        In postgraduate education, Carina is a lead supervisor for several candidates undertaking a Master's Degree and PhD in areas of Education Science, Digital Teaching and Learning and Education Psychology. Carina is currently the chair of the Learning, Teaching and Assessment Committee of Academic Council (2022-26). She is a member of the EU Green Alliance Education Commission and is leading a team tasked with coordinating the professional and pedagogical development programme for 9 EU university partners.
         
        In 2022, Carina was awarded the President’s Award for Outstanding Institutional Citizenship and in February 2025, the prestigious award of Principal Fellowship with Advance HE (PFHEA).
