Personal Profile

Dr. Erik Mac Giolla joined ATU Mayo in 2023. He received his PhD in psychology from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2016. His principal teaching duties are on the B.Sc in Psychology, where he teaches on the history of psychology, research methods and statistics, and cognitive psychology. His primary research area is in Legal Psychology, including eyewitness memory, suspect interviewing, and deception detection. He has also published on the topics of personality and social cognition. Erik has keen interest in the open science movement, and is the Principle Investigator of the international replication project CLIMR (https://climr.org/) funded by the Swedish Research Council.
