Gary Dempsey is an innovative heritage professional focused on utilizing technology to preserve and promote cultural heritage. Dempsey combines his expertise in heritage management, animation, game design, and digital tools to empower communities in Ireland.
Gary merges his interesting in Heritage with Animation and Gaming, creating interactive experiences for heritage communities to engage with the tangible and intangible heritage.
His research delves into medieval Irish stonemasons and broader heritage management, working to involve communities in preserving their history using photogrammetry and laser scanning. His projects, such as the Sheela-na-Gig3D and the Digital Counties Initiative, enable communities to digitally document local heritage artifacts, fostering local pride and engagement
