Personal Profile

Gerard McGranaghan is a Lecturer and PEM researcher in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at ATU Sligo, with a career spanning advanced research, industrial innovation, and engineering education. He holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin in heat transfer and electrohydrodynamics and has deep expertise in thermal sciences, additive manufacturing, and energy systems. His research portfolio includes multiple funded PhD studentships, industry-led projects, and sustained collaboration with companies such as Nexalus, AbbVie, Masonite, Siemens Energy, and Ceramicx.
