Personal Profile
I have been working in ATU Mayo since September 2021. I lecture across the Department of Environmental Humanities and Social Sciences, primaryily in Outdoor Education and Community Development. Mairéad has wide experience teaching in Further and Higher Education and has particular interest in the areas of youth work, community development and professional education and has developed numerous collaborations with industry stakeholders in this context. Mairéad enjoys the privilege of working alongside students, lecturers and frontline practitioners alike to creating innovative and current learning experiences.
Research
My developing research interest is primarily in adult education, youth work and community development. I am also interested in the potential of trasformative learning in the context of our global poly-crisis.
