Dr Róisín Nash is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) and a Principal Investigator with the Marine and Freshwater Research Centre. She holds a PhD in Marine Zoology from the University of Galway and has over 20 years of experience in marine ecology, aquatic pollution, and environmental sustainability.
Dr Nash’s research approach is collaborative and interdisciplinary, increasingly focused on applied and solution-oriented outcomes. Her work integrates ecological science with monitoring, emerging technologies, and nature-based approaches to support sustainable management and protection of aquatic environments.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
