Abstract

In this paper, a unique logo antenna is proposed for the 5G applications, which can be used to monitor the body. The antenna was designed to mimic the shape of a unique logo. The overall size of the logo antenna is 20× 20× 1.6mm3, which makes it the smallest logo up to date in the literature. It works on the 2.9-7.9 GHz, unlicensed future 5G band. In free space, the bandwidth (BW), the reflection coefficient (S11), and the gain of 4.981 GHz,-27.32dB, and 2.75 dBi were achieved, respectively. While on-body, the achievable values are 4.8099 GHz,-32dB, and 5.0 dBi, respectively. The antenna showed an omnidirectional radiation pattern for off and on-body applications. The specific absorption rate (SAR) is limited to ≤2W/KG in the full band. The simulated and measured results are nearly matched, except some measured results are changed due to the fabrication tolerance.
