N2 - The transition from traditional instruction to a problem-based approach to learning requires many changes for educators and for students. The aim of this project was to develop an online problem-based learning (PBL) resource centre to provide academic staff from across the University with support in incorporating PBL in their curriculum design. The resultant interactive resource centre (pbLRC) provides guidance and information on designing PBL. Within the pbLRC there are links to student-centred resources and a facility for sharing case studies. A range of dissemination activities, including workshops, seminars and the establishment of a PBL network, have been used to promote the use of the pbLRC. This paper describes the development of the pbLRC and evaluates its impact and the approaches taken to embedding PBL in academic practice across the University of Ulster.
