Abstract

The spherical vector wave functions are investigated for strong chiral medium. The electromagnetic (EM) resonance in the spherical cavity with perfect electric conductor (PEC) wall, filled with strong chiral medium, is studied. The method for the investigation of frequencies at which the resonance occur is discussed using the characteristic equation of spherical cavity filled with strong chiral medium. The interesting phenomenon, which is observed, is that the cavity has hybrid modes (HEM) which are further divided into two modes hybrid electric mode (HE) and hybrid magnetic mode (HM). The electric and magnetic field intensities are calculated for these modes at the investigated resonance frequencies.
